in January 29, 2025, Riyadh will host the International Ministerial Meeting for the second edition of the International Labor Market Conference, which is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the participation of more than 45 Ministers of Labor from different countries around the world, including the G20 countries, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and the Americas, thus forming a high-level international event that includes an elite group of leaders and decision-makers in labor markets. This ministerial meeting is a very important strategic global platform for exchanging experiences and visions between representatives of the labor system from countries around the world, where future policies and trends in labor markets will be discussed, as well as the challenges facing youth employment, in addition to reviewing innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing youth participation in the global economy. This meeting will also constitute an exceptional opportunity to unify international efforts to address issues of unemployment and youth employment, and discuss ways to develop policies that meet the needs of labor markets in light of rapid economic and technological transformations.
The second ministerial meeting, chaired by Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, is witnessing a huge and unprecedented presence from more than 45 countries, in addition to Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labor Organization, with the participation of experts from various countries around the world, to support the workforce and job seekers, and to exploit modern technologies and government and private sector expertise, to develop their energies and capabilities for innovation and production, and to address any obstacles, contractions and crises that may face labor markets in the future.
The conference will be held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, from January 29 to 30, with the participation of more than 200 speakers representing more than 100 countries. It includes strategic visions and in-depth discussions on 6 main pillars, including: skills development and rehabilitation, mobile workforce, youth empowerment, technological innovation, supporting small and medium enterprises, and promoting the green economy, and finding innovative solutions for it.
