It has become clear that Generation Z is turning to social media as search engines, to access quick and interactive answers amid dissatisfaction with Google results, according to some statistics. The reports added that the behavior of young Internet users has become a clear departure from the behavior of the millennial generation, who came of age in the golden age of online searching and are proud of “Google-fu,” which is the art of searching like a professional. It’s also a headache for Google, a company worth about $2 trillion that still relies heavily on advertising revenue tied to search results. It also turns out that 46% of people between the ages of 18 and 24 start their search for information by searching on Google, according to data shared exclusively with Axios by YPulse, a youth research company.
